So You Found My Blog…

Welcome! I am happy to have you here! Honestly wasn’t expecting anyone to find it. So my story or at least my blogging story;  all starts with a turning point as it does for most people. I graduated in May 2020 right at the beginning of COVID-19. Never got to walk across the stage, spent my last day in my college home isolated from my roommates because of a COVID scare. People always say how awful it is and how sorry they feel for my graduating class. It sucks but like people are dying… I will sacrifice my graduation if that means I am doing my part. So I won’t take pity for not walking at graduation. However, getting a job during a pandemic is not easy. As a college graduate, you already are supposed to struggle to find a job. Not enough experience, too much experience, not qualified. There are so many reasons that college graduates don’t find the job they want out of college.

My university actually has a path that goes through campus and the surrounding area called “Quarantine Road”. So of course graduation photos had to be taken in front of it.

This year I know many graduates, myself included have accepted the first job offer they were given. They’ve made peace with the fact it may not have been their dream job right out of college and then will continue to figure out the rest. So four years ago when I graduated high school, did I see myself as a college graduate living at home with my parents, working two jobs, and doing an internship... NOPE. But I never saw myself writing a blog or working with social media but look at me now! The graduating class of 2020 and potentially 2021 won’t be known for entering the job force and disrupting. They will be known for rolling with the punches.

Actually, everyone will be known for that. We all have had to learn to change our plans when things don’t go as planned. We’ve become resilient. We have had to become resilient. We are making do with whatever mother nature throws at us.

I know when the stay at home order was put into effect, we all used that time to catch up on Netflix we were too busy to watch, deep cleaned our homes, baked, promised ourselves we would work out or started a new hobby. My little brother started a dart-throwing hobby. I started painting some little gifts for my roommates. But now that we are 7 months in with no time frame as to when this will be over, a lot of us have stopped our hobbies.

Well, I need a new hobby. A productive one. I’ve been watching too many TikToks. My boyfriend even set a time limit on my app like a child but I super needed it. It’s 2 and a half hours and some days I actually have to extend it (but I don’t tell him that). So here I am writing this blog. I don’t really know what it will be about it but I figured explaining how I got here would be a good start. For now, I have ideas to write blogs about skincare (I struggle), health, fashion, makeup (my beginner’s knowledge), sorority advice, advice in general, and cheap DIY crafts.  I know that’s kind of random but I am actually a huge sorority girl. I love DIYing things for cheap as possible. I was my sorority’s president for a year and I still love helping them out even from 4 hours away. Along with being president, I was also Vice President of Membership in charge of planning recruitment. I love event planning and if I lived in a perfect world with no worries, I would totally be an event planner.

My Sorority Family and its growing! Thats me at the top standing on a chair.

But here I am, making the best out of what mother nature gave us. So hang out here, we can be resilient together. I got advice and passion to share. So comment below what you want to know and we will stick out the rest of the COVID-19 pandemic together. Let’s do this!
