Workshops.

Throughout my time in Delta Zeta, I planned several different workshops, including a three-day retreat in Charlottesville, Virginia. My workshops were designed to prepare the women in the sorority for recruitment in the fall.

I knew how boring or stupid workshops can be so I set out to make each one fun! I created themes, games, and even competitions to keep people engaged and hopefully excited.

We did role-playing exercises, critical thinking, jeopardy, and bonding. I was hoping that not only the women would feel prepared for recruitment but they would gain confidence, bond with their sisters, and fall in love with the chapter.

Takeaways

Time Management

When I first started planning workshops, I would plan them for during the week at night. They would be small. I quickly realized that these could be done during the chapter. Everyone was already there and it was a waste of everyone’s time to continue to have them during the week.

Engagement

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
