The Guide to Hosting the Ulitmate Girls Night
Guest List: Invite every girl you get along with. The best part about a girl’s night is getting to know people. If there is someone you want to know more or you think is cool, you should reach out and invite them.
Theme/ Occasion: What are you doing? Pre-gaming, movie night, game night, dinner party, watch party, birthday party, spa night. Pick the reason to gather and make sure everyone knows what is happening. This will set the tone for your girl’s night and help you narrow down other details of the party.
Dress Code: What are you doing? Everyone loves a theme and to dress to that theme. Again depending on your reason for gathering, people will want to know how to dress accordingly. Pre-game: going out outfit, Dinner Party: Nicer attire, Spa night, Movie night, watch party, or game night comfortable clothes or even PJs. Just pick the occasion and the dress code always follows.
Games. Games that you can talk through. The idea of girls’ night is to bond, share experiences, and have conversations about stuff you can’t talk about when guys are around. It’s all about making memories. A good old fashion game of truth or dare or never have I ever should do the trick
Drinks. You have to get the conversation flowing. The best way to do that is by consuming some alcohol. Ask your guests to bring their favorite bottle of liquor and a mixer. Or provide a punch and seltzers. When it comes to making punch, you can get super creative with it. You can theme it to your event or just make it simple.
Decor. It’s always fun to make the decor as girly as possible. You can get streamers, balloons, plates, and tape things to your walls. Doorways/ the entrance to your event is where you really want to wow them, so add extra details to that. Use streamers or fridge curtains to really make a statement. Another fun touch is creating a photo wall. You can either go all out with balloons, backdrops, and streamers creating an extra place to take photos. Or provide a clean wall with good lighting is always another great way to get people to take photos.
Snacks. Snacks are a very important part of Girls Night and can be often overlooked. By providing snacks you will be the ultimate girls’ night planner. When doing so, there are a few things to consider. First: allergies, what are people allergic to? You probably will want to avoid those categories or at least make a note if they contain them. Second: are you staying in or going out? If you are staying in snacks will be eaten all night long and you won’t have to worry about food sitting out. But if you are going out, the odds of you doing dishes while the Uber is on the way are not good. So provide easy snacks for a pregame: chips and dip, veggies, or even chicken nuggets (just premake them so you don’t need to worry about the baking sheet). Now of course you can theme your snacks to your event. Spa night: keep it light and healthy. Movie night: popcorn and candy.
Music. When picking your music for the night, I recommend looking up a playlist on Spotify. “Girls night” “Throwbacks” or a playlist to match the theme are always good. People will want to add songs they want to hear, and you should let them because they will most likely dance and get others dancing as well. Music is essential for any pre-game. It is also great while waiting for guests to arrive. It sets the tone for the night and can be super fun!
To make your life easier I have added some examples complete with MOOD BOARDS:
Mammia Mia Party
Guest List: Anyone you want! Your best friends, your new friends, and your work friends. Invite them all!
Theme/ Occasion: Mammia Mia (Duh). Think 70s disco vibes for Mammia Mia Here We Go Again and Grecian beachy vibes for Mammia Mia. You can either just throw a party to dress up or watch the movie. However, if you are partying I suggest a Mammia Mia Here We Go Again theme. This is a great birthday party theme!
Dress Code: If you are watching the movie comfy clothes always. For a party; think disco vibes. You want to have fun with it. Think young Donna and the Dynamos. Wear bell-bottom jeans, bring out your inner rockstar, add sparkle!
Games: Not that you need any games but I think the classic: Bang, Marry, Kill would go nicely with this.
Drinks: Champagne or some kind of blue juice
Decor: For decor, you will want to go all out! Stars, Disco Balls, white streamers. You can really go far with this theme just keep in the color scheme.
Snacks: You can keep it light with a nice snack board inspired by Greece.
Music: ABBA!
Bonus: If you aren’t throwing a party to watch the movie, have it on in the background. It will help set the mood.
Spa Day
Guest List: Keep it small and intimate. This is a chill night.
Theme/ Occasion: Spa Night
Dress Code: Comfy Clothes. Or if you want to be super cute get matching PJs or robes!
Games: Find a fun game that you all enjoy.
Drinks: Keep it light. Water or flavored water.
Decor: Fresh flowers and candles around a room would be perfect. Just keep it simple.
Snacks: Get some salads or have a healthy light dinner.
Music: Keep it chill no need to go all out.
