The Kindest Year Yet
I think everyone has habits or traits about themselves they don’t like, and with the new year here we tend to think about how to change those habits or traits more. As happy as this time of year is, I feel like lots of people (including me) feel so down on themselves trying to make changes. I am kind of tired of feeling bad about myself, so instead of making New Year Resolutions or looking at my traits or habits in a negative way, I am going to look at them in a positive way. Let’s be kind to ourselves. A lot of the time the things we want to change could probably improve our overall health and wellbeing (at least mine would), so these are self acts of kindness. We go out of our way to be kind to others, and we often forget about ourselves. So in the spirit of Self Kindness here is my list of Acts of Kindness for myself:
I should be kind to myself and take the time to workout. I feel better about myself. I am much happier, and it would probably solve my lack of confidence when going out. Overall, I would feel better about myself and would be healthier. That's kindness to me.
I should be kind to myself and shower more. I’ve gotten really good at the dry shampoo game. So good that I can go 5 days without washing my hair, and I hate showering without washing my hair. It’s cold and I look stupid in a shower cap, but I would feel better if I did. And I could use that stuff for KP bumps again, and probably get rid of mine that I’ve had FOREVER.
I should be kind to myself and apply lotion more. I really don’t know why I don't do this.I want soft skin. I don't want to wrinkle.
I should be kind to myself and exfoliate more. Beyond my bi-weekly (maybe) shaving, I don’t really exfoliate and I can tell. I have a dry brush, but I don’t use it.
I should be kind to myself and clean up after myself. My boyfriend really gets on my case about this one, and honestly I feel pretty bad but for some reason I can not clean up after myself like immediately.
I should be kind to myself and make meals at home. It would be kind to my wallet for sure, and I would in turn be much happier.
I should be kind to myself and clean out my closet. This has been on my list of things to do FOREVER! So I should really do it.
So I challenge you to “Throw Kindness like Confetti” and throw some on yourself. Celebrate You and all you have to be kind to yourself about.
